Cynthia Lorena is a certified E-RYT 500 yoga educator, teacher trainer, mentor, intuitive energy healer, international retreat leader, and Fitbit Ambassador featured in Good Morning Washington and publications such as Washingtonian, Byrdie Beauty, The Thirty by Byrdie, and more. Cynthia has been teaching yoga and practicing energy healing (reiki) full time for almost a decade. She is known for her creative and dynamic sequences, and her honest & light-hearted humor. Originally from New York, she currently lives and teaches in the DC metro area. She specializes in vinyasa and restorative yoga group classes as well as private yoga sessions with integrated intuitive energy healing. In addition to group classes, private instruction, and corporate wellness programs, she leads international retreats, leads and assists teacher trainings, and offers mentorships for yoga teachers, energy healers, and more.
Cynthia was born and raised in New York and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2010 with a BFA in Graphic Design. She landed her first job in the fashion industry during her sophomore year of college, and continued to work in the fashion industry full time after graduating. Although she met incredible people and learned valuable lessons, she felt that something was missing. Following her intuition, she left behind her hectic NYC life and immersed herself in studying yoga in the Berkshires of Massachusetts to make her health, happiness, and personal growth a priority. In July 2011 she graduated from Kripalu’s School of Yoga with a 200 hour yoga teaching certificate. Shortly after, she returned to New York City to teach yoga full time. In 2014, Cynthia completed her advanced 500 hour teacher training certification at Yogamaya Yoga School in New York City. She is also a certified Level 2 Reiki (energy) healer. Cynthia has taught teacher trainings through Bhakti Yoga DC and Breathe For Change.
In addition to yoga and energy healing, Cynthia is a part-time case manager for a non-profit for at risk Latino youth. On her spare time, she hand-makes and designs a ritual based apothecary line and wellness/metaphysical products that complement the work she does with her clients. You can find her handmade products in local DC stores and yoga studios.
