Cynthia Lorena is a certified E-RYT 500 Yoga Teacher, Teacher Trainer, Mentor, Intuitive Energy Healer and a Fitbit Ambassador. Cynthia has been teaching yoga and practicing energy healing (reiki) full time for almost a decade. She is known for her creative and dynamic sequences, focus on alignment, her honesty, and her light-hearted humor. Originally from New York, she currently lives and teaches in the DC metro area. She specializes in vinyasa and restorative yoga and one-on-one therapeutic yoga with integrated intuitive energy healing. In addition to group classes, private instruction, and corporate wellness programs, she leads international retreats, leads and assists teacher trainings, and offers mentorships for yoga teachers.
Cynthia was born and raised in New York and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2010 with a BFA in Graphic Design. She landed her first job in the fashion industry during her sophomore year of college, and continued to work in the fashion industry full time after graduating. Although she met incredible people and learned valuable lessons, she felt that something was missing. Following her intuition, she left behind her hectic NYC life and immersed herself in studying yoga in the mountains of Massachusetts to make her health, happiness, and personal growth a priority. In July 2011 she graduated from Kripalu’s School of Yoga with a 200 hour yoga teaching certificate. Shortly after, she returned to New York City to teach yoga full time. In 2014, Cynthia completed her advanced 500 hour teacher training certification at Yogamaya Yoga School in New York City. She is also a certified Level 2 Reiki (energy) healer. Cynthia has taught teacher trainings through Bhakti Yoga DC and Breathe For Change.
In addition to yoga and energy healing, Cynthia also hand-makes and designs a ritual based apothecary line and sells wellness/metaphysical products that complement the work she does with her clients. You can find her handmade products and curated goods online and in local DC stores and yoga studios.
